My Journey

My name is Volin, and my journey to Australia began in 2007—with nothing but a dream and a heart full of hope.

Like many who leave their homeland in search of a better future, I arrived with a clear plan: to study, grow, gain knowledge, and one day return to Indonesia to develop my family’s business and build my own. I believed success was something linear and well-planned.

But life rarely works that way.

What I didn’t realise at the time was that Australia would not just be a destination—it would become the place where my character was shaped, my faith was strengthened, and my life’s purpose was revealed.

Faith, Resilience, and Humble Beginnings

I arrived in Australia with AUD 2,000, a laptop, and my parents’ prayers.
No safety net. No shortcuts.

I worked wherever opportunities came—housekeeping, food courts, restaurants, cafés, retail, supermarkets, fish markets, property, driving jobs, and eventually in the migration field.

Every role, no matter how small it seemed, became part of the process that shaped me:

I learned humility through hard work.
I built resilience through rejection.
I gained wisdom through experience.

Nothing was wasted.

There were seasons when life felt overwhelmingly heavy—filled with confusion, loneliness, and fear. I went through moments I would never want to relive.

Yet it was in that darkest valley that I encountered Jesus Christ—not just as religion, but as truth, hope, and a way of life. Through Him, I found meaning beyond success, strength beyond myself, and a peace the world cannot give.

I didn’t just survive—I was transformed.
